What size TESY cylinder do I need?

Helping you size your TESY cylinder

When choosing the size of TESY cylinder you require, a good approach is to base this on the water volume required.

Some examples of appliances and their water consumption are;

  • Average Shower - Approximately 50-60L of mixed hot and cold water
  • Average Bath - Approximately 80L of water
  • Average sink or Hand Basin - Approximately 3-9L of water
EXAMPLE SCENARIO: If you were looking to choose a cylinder for a bathroom which contains a shower and a sink, the combined average water consumption based on the above figures would be around 53-69L of water. Therefore a good size for this situation may be an 80L cylinder.

FREQUENCY OF USE: Another factor to consider is how frequently the appliances will be used as each cylinder has a stated warmup time . Using the same example above, if the shower was to be used twice in the morning one after another then you may wish to choose a slightly bigger size such as a 120L cylinder to avoid any heat up times between showers.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

  • Always check the dimensions of the cylinder are suitable for where you intend to install the unit e.g.

  • The cylinders are unvented and therefore are required by law to be installed by a G3 qualified plumber

I hope this helps!
